The MGA Foundation Continues to Spread Game

Bridgeport, CT- In keeping with its mission to “Grow the Game,” the MGA Foundation’s First Tee Initiative’s Golf-In-Schools Instruction program, cornerstone of the Foundation’s junior golf programs, in conjunction with the Connecticut Golf Foundation, conducted another one-day program at the Columbus Magnet School in South Norwalk, CT on March 25th.

ELMSFORD, NY… On the heels of last week’s t-13TH finish at The MasterCard Classic, Deepdale Head Professional Darrell Kestner earned yet another top 20 finish on the Champions Tour, this time at the SBC Classic at the Valencia Country Club in Valencia, CA March 14TH.

 

Kestner finished with a closing round 67 for a 212 total vaulting him into a tie for 18th with a group that included former U.S. Open champion Tom Kite, who both finished ten shots back of champion Gil Morgan.

HUIXQUILUCAN, Mexico- Deepdale Head Professional Darrell Kestner, who missed conditional status on the Champions Tour by a single stroke after missing a four-foot putt on the 72nd hole of this year’s Qualifying School, earned a little redemption by finishing t-13 at The MasterCard Classic at the Bosque Real CC, in Huixquilucan, Mexico March 7th.

Robson, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Section of the PGA since 1972, and a member of the Garden City Golf Club, was honored with the Association’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, at the 106th Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, December 3rd, at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, NY.

ELMSFORD, N.Y.-Jerry Courville, Jr., of Shorehaven Golf Club in East Norwalk, Connecticut, and Andrew Svoboda of Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY, were honored as co-winners of the MGA’s Jerry Courville, Sr. Player of the Year Award at the Association’s Annual Meeting on December 3rd at Westchester Country Club. It is only the second time in the 28-year history of the award the MGA has named co-winners.
