2000 French-American Challenge Set for October 17-19 at Atlantic GC

The MGA/WMGA & Ligue de Paris are set to square off in the 10th French American Golf Challenge at Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y., on October 17-19.

The Metropolitan Golf Association and the Ligue de Paris inaugurated the French-American Matches in 1990 in order to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie and goodwill between our two nations. They have become one of the most exciting and anticipated competitions on the Met Golf Calendar.

ST. ANDREWS GC--The 2000 MGA Tournament season kicked off in dramatic fashion as the Rutgers University team came from an eleven shot morning deficit to capture its first MGA Intercollegiate Championship in over 25 years.  Rutgers heroic finish was good enough to edge out St. John’s University, leaders after the morning 18, on a spectacular day at historic St. Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.

GLEN COVE, N.Y.-- In what turned out to be a two-man race Ken Macdonald, of Upper Montclair GC, showed veins of steel outlasting Marc Turnesa, of Rockville Links, by one stroke successfully defending his title in the 45th MGA/MetLife Ike Stroke Play Championship.
