MGA Foundation Outlines Rules Changes at Spring Seminar
Eastchester, NY- The Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation continued its Spring Education Series with the MGA/Met PGA Rules of Golf Workshop at Lake Isle CC in Eastchester, NY. It is the third in a series of educational forums, providing golf professionals and tournament committee members with the latest USGA rules updates for the 2004 season.
More than 130 Met area golf professionals and club leaders listened as Genger Fahleson, manager of Rules education for the USGA, presented and fielded questions regarding the recent changes to the 2004 Rules of Golf and its Decisions. Among the noteworthy changes include the addition of a golf course “code of conduct” and a redefinition of the term “Loose Impediments,” as it pertains to a player no longer automatically being penalized if a ball is touched by a loose impediment within one club length of the ball.
