The MGA Foundation Continues to Spread Game
Bridgeport, CT- In keeping with its mission to “Grow the Game,” the MGA Foundation’s First Tee Initiative’s Golf-In-Schools Instruction program, cornerstone of the Foundation’s junior golf programs, in conjunction with the Connecticut Golf Foundation, conducted another one-day program at the Columbus Magnet School in South Norwalk, CT on March 25th.
Since January, Golf- In-Schools has traveled to over 30 elementary schools in the southern Connecticut area most notably Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford, teaching over 600 children, ages 5-14 the basic fundamentals and Rules of golf.
PGA professional Jim Giordano, along with Greg Gaulocher of Mosholu GC in the Bronx, have been instrumental instructing students on the fundamentals of the game, with the hope that the early exposure will spark a love for the game that will last a lifetime. It is seen as a great opportunity to introduce golf to a young people who otherwise may not have had such exposure to the game.
