Small Captures New Jersey Amateur

Fairmount’s Allan Small closed with a final round 69, and then defeated Tyler Hall of Packanack in a three-hole aggregate, one-hole sudden death playoff to win the 103rd NJSGA Amateur Championship at Spring Brook CC in Morristown, NJ.

 

It was an especially significant win for the 52 year-old, former NJ Mid-Amateur champion, due to replacement surgery on both knees this past fall.

Wagner, winner of five consecutive MGA titles from 2001-02 and current member of the Nationwide Tour, shot rounds of 67 and 70 for a five-under total to earn one of 33 spots in sectional qualifying Columbus, OH, his first trip to the National Championship.
