ELMSFORD, N.Y. (February 17, 2005) - Tim O’ Neill, CGCS, golf course superintendent at the Country Club of Darien, Darien, CT, was elected president of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America on February 11th at the Association’s Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL.  A native of Pawtucket, RI, O’Neill will head a 12-person Executive Committee and will succeed Mark J. Woodward of Mesa, AZ.

La Quinta, CA…..At the PGA Tour’s Qualifying School Final Stage at the PGA West Stadium Course & Nicklaus Tournament Course in La Quinta, CA, former NJ State Amateur Champion and Furman University standout Matt Davidson (West Windsor, NJ) earned full exemption to the PGA Tour in 2005 after finishing t –11th with a six round total of 422.

WMGA to Offer Scholarship Opportunities

Elmsford, NY…The Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association Scholarship Foundation, the charitable arm of the WMGA, founded in 1899, is now offering college scholarships to young women who have exhibited an interest in golf or golf related careers or activities and plan to or are attending, a university, college or accredited trade school.  Applications are due May 1st and can be obtained by calling the WMGA office at 914-592-7888 or visit the WMGA Website at www.wmga.com.
