MGA Tournament Policy Changes
Elmsford, N.Y.- The MGA continues its efforts to provide players with the most comprehensive championship schedule in the country and strives to keep our information technology at the same level. With this in mind, and to help us serve you more efficiently, we are announcing the following plans for 2005.
Coming off a tremendous season which saw our major events held at great venues like Quaker Ridge, Stanwich and Hudson National, the MGA is once again delighted to announce that 2005 will be no different. Plainfield (Ike Championship), The Creek Club ( Met Amateur), and Old Westbury ( Met Open) will serve as host to the MGA’s three “Major” Championships. Also, we are proud to announce that the Public Links Championship will be held at Bethpage Black, site of Tiger Woods’ victory at the 2002 U.S. Open. In addition the Tuxedo Club will serve host to the Senior Open presented by Canon, USA.
With this in mind we wanted to make you aware of a few changes that we have made to our tournament policy.
- Tournament Entry
Except by request, Official Entry Forms will no longer be mailed to contestants. You are encouraged to enter events on the MGA website (www.mgagolf.org). You may also download a printable entry form from our website or call the MGA office to request a form by mail or fax.
- Tournament Information
To enhance and expedite contestant information, including pairings, we will email the information to you - and posted on our website - as soon as they are prepared. A reminder postcard will also be sent to each contestant - but packages will no longer be mailed - unless requested.
As always, we appreciate your participation, cooperation and support in making the MGA tournament season a success and look forward to a great season in 2005. Our complete schedule is available now on our website. You can also look forward to receiving our annual Calendar of Competitions in late March.
