2008 WGA Public Links Championship - The Links at Union Vale
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. (July 17, 2008) – A hole-in-one catapulted Daria Cummings of Taconic Valley to an even-par round of 74 as she claimed victory today at the 11th WMGA/MGA Public Links Championship at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course. Coming in second with a two-over 76 was 2005 Women’s Public Links champion Karen Bouloucon of Black Bear, and tying for third at 79 were Michelle Romano of Met PGA Junior and Yoon Park of Bethpage, who also took home low net honors. Defending champion Allison Oakes placed fifth after a round of 81.
ALOI WINS MET JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
DENVILLE, N.J. (July 17, 2008) – Anthony Aloi of Plainsboro, N.J., defeated Dillon Corbo of Montville, N.J., in 19 holes in the final match of the 91st Met Junior Championship, sponsored by MetLife, at Rockaway River Country Club. This was Aloi’s second victory at the club after capturing the 2005 NJSGA Boys title in 2005.
DENVILLE, N.J. (July 16, 2008) – Day two of the 91st Met Junior Championship, sponsored by MetLife, is in the books and the stage is set for a fantastic final day of competition tomorrow at Rockaway River Country Club in Denville, N.J. Today’s round of 16 and quarterfinal matches saw only one major upset, last year’s runner-up Max Bischel of Cranbury, N.J., falling to Dillon Corbo of Montville, N.J. in a quarterfinal match that took 20 holes to be decided.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 15, 2008) – The 11th WMGA/MGA Women’s Public Links championship will be held this coming Thursday, July 17, on the Red Course at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. This championship annually draws a talented field of golfers looking to test their abilities against the best female public-course players in the Met Area.

Wilson, who was the medalist in a 2008 U.S.

(June 26, 2008) – With an impressive 12-under 59, the Mohansic team of Richard Abramo and Peter Rubeo captured the 32nd MGA/MetLife Men’s Net Team title at Mount Kisco Country Club in Mount Kisco, N.Y. Today’s play saw plenty of impressive rounds across the leaderboard, but none in the field of 48 teams could match Abramo and Rubeo, even despite their slow start.
