First Tee Students Selected for Leadership Roles
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 11, 2009) — Four students from The First Tee of Metropolitan New York have been selected to participate in two leadership initiatives. Paul Toohey from Mosholu and Steve Fetko from Fairchild Wheeler have been chosen for the Toro Future Leaders Forum which takes place November 12-15 in Orlando, Fla. Caitlin Lopes from Mosholu and Tim Kearan from Eisenhower Park were chosen to attend the Life Skills and Leadership Academy in Eugene, Ore., from July 28-August 4.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 10, 2009) — Morgan Hoffmann, the 19-year-old golf star from Wyckoff, N.J., and Arcola Country Club, has been selected by the USGA to represent the United States in the 2009 Walker Cup Matches.

(August 9, 2009) – Youth was served in one of the oldest championships in golf, as 16-year-old Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven finished off an outstanding week with an impressive 4 & 3 victory over John Ervasti of Sleepy Hollow in the final of the 107th Met Amateur at Hackensack Golf Club.

(August 8, 2009) – The final match of the 107th Met Amateur Championship at Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, N.J., will be a matchup of a young phenom and a seasoned veteran, as 54-year-old John Ervasti of Sleepy Hollow will take on 16-year-old Cameron Wilson, the 2009 Carter Cup champion.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 7, 2009) – Following a slew of close matches this morning in the Round of 16, the afternoon quarterfinals at the 107th Met Amateur at Hackensack Golf Club were filled with lopsided victories. Saturday’s semifinal matches begin at noon, with the 36-hole final on Sunday, August 9th at 7:30 a.m.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 6, 2009) – The 107th Met Amateur Championship began with 63 top Met Area players teeing off for 36 holes of stroke play at Hackensack Golf Club, and at the end of the day, 16 remained to advance to match play in the MGA’s oldest and most prestigious amateur championship.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 30, 2009) - Tommy McDonagh of Shorehaven Golf Club in Norwalk, Connecticut, is a two-time Met Amateur champion. McDonagh captured the title in 2006 at Baltusrol Golf Club when he was just 17, becoming the youngest winner in the history of the championship.
