MGA Champs Move to Second Stage of Web.com Tour Q-School

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 18, 2013) - The next leg of the Web.com Tour's Qualifying School is underway, and eight players from the Met Area will be playing in the Second Stage this week. Advancing through these highly competitve fields would earn the players a spot in the Final Stage, but they still need to finish in the top 25 at the six-round Final Stage to earn a Web.com Tour card for the 2014 season.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (November 1, 2013) - Starting  November 1 and continuing through March 31, 2013, the Met Area officially observes the inactive score posting season. All rounds of golf played in the Met Area between these dates are ineligible to be posted for Handicap Index purposes. The Met Area's active score posting season extends from April 1 through October 31.

13 Locals in the Field at the National PGA Assistants Championship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 29, 2013) - Thirteen assistant professionals from the Met Area are competing this week at the 2013 National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The 72-hole stroke play competition will run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3 and includes 126 of the top assistants from around the country.

Score Posting Season Nears End for 2013

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 14, 2013) — The 2013 Met Area golf season is just about over and the Nov. 1 handicap eRevision will be the last official “active-season” revision for the year. It is important to know that scores made in the Met Area after Oct. 31 should not be posted and will not be accepted for handicap purposes. MGA handicapping will begin its inactive season from Nov. 1 to March 31, 2014. The first day for posting scores for 2014 will be April 1.

Saladino's Run at the U.S. Mid-Am Comes to an End

UPDATED - October 8, 2013 (7 p.m.) - Joe Saladino's impressive run at the U.S. Mid-Am at the Country Club of Birmingham came to an end on Tuesday when he was defeated by Bill Williamson of Cincinnati, Ohio, 5&4. It was the second time in three years that Saladino advanced all the way to the Sweet 16.
