ELMSFORD, N.Y. (September 20, 2013) -  The USGA Senior Amateur Championship is headed to Cashiers, North Carolina, where seven of the Met Area’s top seniors will compete at Wade Hampton Golf Club. After 36 holes of on-site stroke play qualifying, the field of 156 golfers all age 55 and older will be cut down to the low 64 scorers for match play.

SCARSDALE, N.Y. (August 26, 2013) – Tranquil weather and beautiful course conditions at Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., offered up ideal scoring opportunities for the first wave of players in the 17th MGA Senior Open.

Fourteen of out the 54 players who teed it up in the morning were able to shoot under par, led by two-time Met Open champion (’92 and ’08) Mark Mielke of Mill River, who fired a bogey-free 6-under 65. His fantastic front-nine 31 included three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 7th.
