MGA Honored With WMGA Judy Bell Award
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 30, 2013) - The Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association has selected the Metropolitan Golf Association and the New Jersey State Golf Association as the co-recipients of their prestigious Judy Bell Award for 2013.
The award was established in 1997 to recognize an individual or group who has made significant contributions to the game of golf for women and/or juniors in the Metropolitan Area. Previous recipients of this prestigious award include Maureen Orcutt, Brigid Shanley Lamb, Carolyn Cudone, and Westchester Country Club. The MGA and NJSGA received this honor in recognition for support of women and junior golf.
The MGA has partnered with the WMGA in recent years to jointly conduct the WMGA/MGA Metropolitan Amateur Championship, the MGA/WMGA Mixed Pinehurst Championship, the WMGA/MGA Public Links Championship and the French American Challenge, and supports the WMGA’s course rating and scholarship programs, USGA State Teams, inter-district, and national/international competitions.
