ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 31, 2015) – Following an outstanding season of championship golf, the Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce Cameron Young of Sleepy Hollow as the recipient of the 2015 MGA Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year Award. Though Young has made four previous Honor Roll appearances, the 18-year-old’s 2015 campaign displayed a heightened level of consistency and led him to a wide margin of victory in the race for the coveted honor.

JACKSON, N.J. (October 20, 2015) - After nearly one full day of competition at the 13th Carey Cup at Metedeconk National Golf Club, the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) leads the MGA 3-2. One four-ball match was unable to finish due to darkness, and stands all-square on the 18th tee.

UPDATE (10:30 am, October 5, 2015) - Match play is officially underway at the U.S. Mid-Am and the Met Area's own Brian Komline earned himself the 4th seed, teeing off at 11:10 am. Komline will go head to head against the 61st seed, Reid Hatley of Hayden Lake, Idaho.

David Pastore Wins 2014 MGA Player of the Year Award

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 31, 2014) - The Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce that David Pastore of Griff Harris Men’s Club is the recipient of the 2014 MGA Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year Award. Pastore’s career year was highlighted by two down-the-stretch victories at the MGA Ike and Met Amateur championships, but steady play in the Met Area also played a big role in Pastore’s runaway Player of the Year season.

Local Assistants in Florida for National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship

UPDATED 5:17 p.m. (November 2, 2014) - Grant Sturgeon of Mamaroneck, N.Y. claimed the 38th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship today at PGA Golf Club's Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla. with a final round score of 7-under 65. That gave Sturgeon a four day total of 13-under 275. The red-hot play continues for the reigning Met Open Champion as this gives the Winged Foot assistant professional his fourth victory of the year.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 23, 2014) - A number of top Met Area players are taking their games to the next level this fall and attemting to earn status on the Web.com Tour through "Q School." The First Stage has now completed and several Met Area locals have advanced to the Second Stage in November and ultimately the Finals at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens on December 11-16.
