BROUSSARD, La. (March 26, 2006). Three days after his 26th birthday, Johnson Wagner gave himself the best present of all as he captured his first Nationwide Tour win at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open. The former Met Area star shot a final-round 67 and sank an eight-foot birdie putt on the last hole for a one-stroke win over Chad Collins.
The 2006 MGA Foundation Spring Educational Series has concluded one of its most successful seasons ever, following a month-long program of educational forums. These programs are designed to educate club leaders and the golfing public about a wide range of topics of interest to Met Area golfers including Rules, handicapping procedures, new technology, and MGA and MGA Foundation services and programs. The MGA also participated in three highly successful Met Area golf shows. A brief review of these programs follows.

Elmsford, N.Y. (March 28, 2005) - Jim Albus (left), former two-time Met Open Champion, shot 6-under par (71-67-69) to tie for 8th place in the Champions Tour Toshiba Senior Classic in Newport Beach, CA. This is Albus’ first top-10 finish since he tied for 6th place in the Georgia-Pacific Super Seniors Championship in 2002 and earned him $40,307, bringing his 2005 total earnings to $78,950 moving him to 35th on the Champions Tour Money List.
It is with deep regret that the MGA and MGA Foundation must note the loss of its distinguished Vice President, J. Michael Carter, who passed away on March 10th at the age of 51.
