The show is done live from 6:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. and will feature four, two-minute spots highlighting First Tee programming initiatives in place at five Metropolitan Area sites. NEWARK, N.J. (March 25, 2008) - Junior golfers from Newark and surrounding communities attended an Open House hosted by The First Tee of Metropolitan New York. The youngsters had the chance to take some swings and receive some instruction on the driving range and putting green at the popular Weequahic Park facility, followed by the opportunity to play a few holes.

(March 11, 2008) - Charlie Sifford, the first African-American to play the PGA Tour and the first black golfer to be enshrined at the World Golf Hall of Fame, will be recognized for his pioneering career achievements by the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association at their 57th National Awards Dinner on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, New York. Sifford will receive the Gold Tee Award, the MGWA’s highest honor.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 5, 2008) - The Metropolitan Golf Association has elected to allow the use of electronic distance-measuring devices in its competitions for 2008. Players will be permitted to use measuring devices that provide information on distance only. The MGA is joined by the Westchester, Long Island and New Jersey State Golf Associations in adopting this Local Rule for selected events.
