ELMSFORD, N.Y. (March 3, 2010) – The Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation has named GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, N.Y., as the recipient of the 2010 Arthur P. Weber MGA Club Environmental Leaders in Golf Award. The award recognizes an MGA member club that has demonstrated environmental stewardship through golf course maintenance, construction, education, and research.
April 1, 2009 — The 2009 MGA season officially begins with the 82nd playing of the MGA Senior Amateur Championship, to be held Monday and Tuesday, May 4 and 5, at Preakness Hills Country Club in Wayne, N.J.

March 30, 2009 — One of the most prominent golf professionals in New Jersey golf history, Peter Famiano, died on March 28 at the age of 65. In a career that spanned more than 30 years, Famiano was a respected member of the Met Area golf community as both a player and colleague.
March 20, 2009 — The MGA Foundation held its annual MGA/USGA Green Chairmen Education Series on March 19 at Hackensack Golf Club. The seminar featured expert speakers addressing a variety of topics of interest to club leaders. The presentations are now available on mgagolf.org, click here to access them. The MGA Foundation also honored Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y., as the recipient of the third annual MGA Club Environmental Award.
The Metropolitan Golf Association and the Metropolitan PGA held their annual Rules of Golf Workshop on March 25 at Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester, N.Y. Attended by golf professionals, club officials and MGA Committeemen, the workshop featured a presentation by USGA Manager of Rules Education David Staebler.
