MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (July 10, 2014) – The first round of the 67^th MGA Public Links Championship at Charleston Springs Golf Course (South) has ended and the two leaders hold a one shot lead. Eric LeFante of Neshanic Valley and Xander McDonald-Smith of Marine Park each fired 1-under 71s in the first round to grab the lead, but a host of players at even par 72 stand close behind. LeFante, the 2012 MGA Public Links Champion, hopes to capture his second MGA championship and feels good heading into his afternoon round.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 7, 2014)– The field for the 67th MGA Public Links Championship is set and Charleston Springs Golf Course in Millstone Township, N.J., will play host to the 36-hole stroke play event.  A field of 61 determined golfers will take on the South Course on July 10th and the competition promises to be spectacular. There are many notable names that could provide for an interesting finish and claim the trophy.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 2, 2014) - Each year, GOLFWORKS, the MGA Foundation’s cornerstone internship program, provides impactful summer employment at Met Area clubs to more than 230 deserving high school students. Now in its 20th year, the success of GOLFWORKS can be credited for the willingness of MGA member clubs to hire teenagers, many whom have little or no work experience. J.D.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - The field for the 2014 U.S. Senior Open at Oak Tree National in Edmond, Okla. is set and three-time Met Open Champion Darrel Kestner of Glen Cove, N.Y. is one of the few Met Area local club pros that will tee it up the week of July 10-13. Kestner, the Director of Golf at Deepdale, will join names like Fred Couples, Kenny Perry, and Bernhard Langer as they all attempt to capture the 35th U.S. Senior Open.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - This year will be the final playing of the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship and the field features some local Met Area players and ones that could certainly contend for the trophy. The last edition of the event will be played at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas on July 14-19.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 30, 2014) - The Metropolitan Golf Writers Association hosted its 63rd National Awards Dinner at the Westchester Marriot in Tarrytown, N.Y., on June 23rd.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 31, 2013) – A spectacular second round of 1-under 71, which included a clutch birdie on the 36^th hole, earned Ryan Rose of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J. the 11^th Carter Cup Wednesday at historic Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 31, 2013) – The MGA’s 11^th Carter Cup is underway at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. and the Met Area’s top junior players are through their first round in this 36-hole Junior Stroke Play Championship. The first half of play was conducted on Baltusrol’s Upper Course, which played as a par 71 (35-36) to 6,921 yards.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 30, 2013) – The MGA’s oldest and most coveted amateur championship returns on August 1-4 when 59 of the Met Area’s strongest players will compete in the 111^th Met Amateur at The Stanwich Club in Greenwich, Conn.
