CHATHAM, N.J. (July 13, 2011) – Round three of the 94th Met Junior Championship sponsored by MetLife took place Wednesday morning at Fairmount Country Club in Chatham, N.J., and continued to highlight the impressive junior talent coming out of the metropolitan area.
With defending champion Nicole Morales not in the 2011 field, the 14th WMGA/MGA Women’s Public Links Championship is a wide-open affair. The championship, to be held on Wednesday, July 13 at Bethpage State Park’s Red Course, features a field of 36 of the best female public links players from throughout the Met Area. Morales, the 2010 champion, is now a member of a private club and is no longer eligible for the event.
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 8, 2011) – A field of 64 talented Met Area junior golfers will compete in the 94th Met Junior Championship sponsored by MetLife at Fairmount Country Club in Chatham, N.J., July 12-14. The Met Junior, the nation’s oldest junior championship, is a three-day, match play competition featuring one of the most skilled groups of competitors in regional junior golf.
Three participants from The First Tee of Metropolitan New York are in the field at the Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, an official Champions Tour event that to be played from July 8-10 and televised nationally on Golf Channel. The First Tee Open at Pebble Beach is a 54-hole golf event that features 78 Champions Tour players and 78 junior golfers ages 15-18.
