2007 CSGA Mid-Amateur Championship - Wee Burn
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (August 28, 2007) – In his first year of senior eligibility,Bruce Zabriski made a triumphant return to the Met Area and won the 2007 MGA Senior Open Championship, presented by Canon, USA, at Metropolis Country Club. Zabriski posted the low round of the championship, a two-under 69 for a 140 total, two strokes better than amateur Richard Jung of Sterling Farms and two-time Met Open champion Bobby Heins of Old Oaks.

The MGA Senior Open Championship, presented by Canon, USA, will be played this year at Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, N.Y. on August 27 and 28. This will mark the 11th playing of this very popular event for the talented veteran competitors of the region.

JERICHO, N.Y. (August 24, 2007) – Frank Bensel of Century Country birdied the final two holes to win the 92nd Met Open Championship, sponsored by MetLife, at The Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, New York. The exciting finish to the 54-hole championship gave Bensel a one-stroke victory over a quartet of accomplished players – former Met Open winners Andrew Svoboda of Winged Foot and Rick Hartmann of Atlantic, Jim Herman of Trump National-Bedminster, and Bob Rittberger of Garden City GC. Bensel shot three consecutive rounds of 69 to finish at six-under 207.
JERICHO, N.Y. (August 22, 2007) – A familiar name is on top of the leaderboard after the first round of the 92nd Met Open Championship, sponsored by MetLife, at The Meadow Brook Club in Jericho, NY. Rick Hartmann of Atlantic Golf Club fired a four-under 67 and holds a one-stroke lead heading into the second round on Thursday. Hartmann is a two-time Met Open winner, capturing the title in 1998 and 2004, and was runner-up in last year’s Met Open at Canoe Brook.
JERICHO, N.Y. (August 23, 2007) – The final round of the 92nd Met Open Championship, sponsored by MetLife, is shaping up to be dramatic showdown featuring some of the most accomplished players from across the Met Area. Today’s second round of the 54-hole championship featured some spectacular golf from the talented field, allowing a large number of players to jump into contention. A total of 66 players out of the field of 140 made the cut, which came in at five-over-par 147.
The First Tee of Metropolitan New York squared off against The First Tee of Massachusetts in the First Annual, The Barclays Cup Tri-Match. The event was contested at the Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, New Jersey. The event was sponsored by Barclays who also sponsored the entire Barclays Cup Series.
