(May 14, 2009) – John Bushka of Stratford, Conn., fired a three-under-par 68 to claim medalist honors and lead the field of 118 players during U.S. Open Championship local qualifying held Thursday, May 14 at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Conn. All qualifiers advance to sectional qualifying, the last stage before the 2009 U.S. Open Championship at Bethpage Black.

(May 12, 2009) – Bob Rittberger of Garden City, N.Y., fired a competitive course-record 67 to claim medalist honors and lead the field of 78 players during U.S. Open Championship local qualifying held Tuesday, May 12 at Laurel Links Country Club in Laurel, N.Y. All qualifiers advance to sectional qualifying, the last stage before the 2009 U.S. Open Championship at Bethpage Black.
May 12, 2009 — The 82nd MGA Senior Amateur Championship, originally scheduled for May 4th and 5th, will be played Tuesday and Wednesday, September 8th and 9th at Preakness Hills Country Club in Wayne, N.J. May 11, 2009 – The Packanack Golf Club team of Steven Dalane and Terrence Fitzpatrick fired a eight-under-par net 64 to capture the 17th MGA Senior Net Four-Ball Tournament title on Monday, May 11 at Salem Golf Club in North Salem, N.Y. The team finished in a tie with Scott MacEwan and Michael Calaluca of Osiris Country Club, who also shot a net 64 in the afternoon. The tie was broken by the total age of the players, with the Packanack team being younger.
