JOHNSTOWN, PENN. (June 17, 2012) - 2011 MGA Player of the Year Mike Miller took a major leap in the Men's World Golf Rankings this past week after his stellar runner-up finish at the 59th Annual Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament of Champions. The 19-year-old jumped 32 places, going from No. 64 to No. 32 on the rankings. The top-50 amateurs in the ranking system get to bypass qualifying for the U.S. Amateur.

UPDATED: June 19, 2012 (8:30 a.m.) - 2005 MGA Carter Cup champ Morgan Hoffmann finished strong on Sunday with an even-par 70 which put him in a tie for 29th at the 112th U.S. Open Championship. His overall score of 289 (72-74-73-70) was only eight shots back of the winner, Webb Simpson, who finished at 1-over. Hoffmann, playing in his second Open,  was one of only 14 players on Sunday to shoot par or better on what was a vigorous setup at Olympic Club.

(June 11, 2012) — The Woodmere Club has been selected to receive the prestigious Club of the Year Award from the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association at their 61st National Awards Dinner to be held on June 19th at the Hilton Westchester in Rye Brook, New York. ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 12, 2012) -  The brand-new, state-of-the-art First Tee Youth Learning Center was officially unveiled on Wednesday, June 6 at Essex County's Weequahic Park in Newark. The center is slightly larger than 1,600 square feet and includes a computer lab area and flexible classroom space for group learning and presentations.
