MGA Alums Compete in Canada

UPDATED: (June 1, 2015) - Six MGA alums competed in last week's PC Financial Open, the first of 12 events on Mackenzie Tour, formerly known as PGA TOUR Canada, and it was 2014 MGA Player of the Year David Pastore of Griff Harris who had the best finish of the week. Pastore was playing thanks to a sponsor's exemption, and was able to tie for 22nd at 6-under, despite an opening round 3-over 75 at Point Grey Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, Can.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 28, 2015) - Sectional qualifying for the 60th Ike Championship, the MGA's premier stroke play event, officially begins on June 28 at Leewood Country Club. The MGA will conduct five 18-hole qualifying rounds throughout the Met Area to determine the final field for the 54-hole championship at Friar's Head in Riverhead, N.Y.., on June 29 & 30.

The MGA will be be posting results, recaps, and photos throughout the qualifying window.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 26, 2015) - 2012 Met Open Champion Danny Balin of Greenwich, Conn., earned his first victory on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica this weekend at the Guatemala Stella Artois Open. Balin's 54-hole score of 15-under was enough to win the rain shortened tournament at the beautiful Fuega Maya course at La Reunion Golf Resort in Antigua, Guatemala.

PARAMUS, N.J. (May 21, 2015)  - Four players qualified today in a field of 138 at Arcola Country Club in Paramus, N.J., at the U.S. Senior Open Sectional Qualifying Round and will head to Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, CA., June 25-28, to compete in the U.S. Senior Open.

Women's Met Amateur Postponed

The 14th WMGA/MGA Women’s Met Amateur Championship at the Tuxedo Club has been postponed.  Unfortunately, the Tuxedo Club’s golf course suffered severe damage this past winter.  We have been monitoring this situation for several weeks and it is now clear the course will not be up to the normal standards for this championship. 

The Championship is TENATIVELY rescheduled for Monday, July 20.  Once this date is confirmed, you will receive another email stating:

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (May 13, 2015) - Elmwood Country Club gave way for eight players to advance through a Local Qualifying Round for the 2015 U.S. Open. All who qualified will move forward to a Sectional Qualifying Round. Two alternates were also designated.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 12, 2015) – Yesterday, Westchester Country Club in Rye, N.Y. hosted the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship Media Day to announce what’s in store for its inaugural year.

Among the many incredible golfers in the field, there are 22 major champions aiming to add to their repertoire. At the head of the list is Two-Time Defending Champion Inbee Park, who earned the title in both ’13 and ’14.  The Championship offers a 3.5 million dollar purse – one of the highest in women’s golf.
