(July 30, 2015) - Joshua Skillern, second year GOLFWORKS intern and rising senior at Technology High School in Newark, is in the midst of working his second summer at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, NJ. Joshua explains that he returned to the GOLFWORKS program at Baltusrol because his first summer was so memorable and presented opportunities to grow personally and professionally.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 29, 2015) – Bobby Diforio, Jr. posted even-par rounds on both the Upper and Lower Courses at Baltusrol on Wednesday to secure his first-career MGA title at the 13^th Carter Cup. The White Plains, N.Y., native’s 143 total earned him a one-stroke victory over Connor Daly of Bronxville, N.Y.

SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (July 29, 2015) – Eighteen players are within three shots of the lead at the 13^th Carter Cup, as the morning round on Baltusrol’s Upper Course is complete. Bobby Diforio of White Plains, N.Y., leads the field by one shot following an even-par round of 71. The area’s top juniors are now in action on the Lower Course to conclude the 36-hole championship.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 28, 2015) The Metropolitan Golf Association is deeply saddened to report the passing of its 53^rd President, Joseph C. Cantwell.  Joe passed away on Sunday, July 26^th, at age 85, after a lengthy illness.

ORADELL, N.J. (July 23, 2015) – Today concluded the final sectional qualifying for the Met Open at Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, N.J., where 16 players qualified for this year’s 100^th Met Open Championship. At the start of the day, a group of 150 competitors competed for 13 qualifying spots plus ties.

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (July 22, 2015) – A total of 18 players qualified at Port Jefferson Country Club in Port Jefferson, N.Y. for the 100^th Met Open Championship from a starting field of 141.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (July 20 , 2015) - More than 850 players registered for a chance to compete in the 100th playing of the Met Open Championship at Winged Foot on August 25-27. The MGA is conducting six sectional qualifying rounds throughout the Met Area to determine the final field to play in this historic championship.

PURCHASE, N.Y. (July 20, 2015) – A total of 17 players qualified at Brae Burn for the 100^th Met Open Championship from a starting field of 144, led by amateur Brian Komline of Black Oak.
