ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 13, 2009) – Defending champion Peter Kim of Metuchen, N.J., advanced to the semifinals of the 41st MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club following two impressive victories. Matt Josephs of Palisades, N.Y., Mark Reilly of Babylon, N.Y., and Michael Giannico of Blue Point, N.Y., will join Kim in the semifinals, which are scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 11, 2009) — Four students from The First Tee of Metropolitan New York have been selected to participate in two leadership initiatives. Paul Toohey from Mosholu and Steve Fetko from Fairchild Wheeler have been chosen for the Toro Future Leaders Forum which takes place November 12-15 in Orlando, Fla. Caitlin Lopes from Mosholu and Tim Kearan from Eisenhower Park were chosen to attend the Life Skills and Leadership Academy in Eugene, Ore., from July 28-August 4.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 10, 2009) — Morgan Hoffmann, the 19-year-old golf star from Wyckoff, N.J., and Arcola Country Club, has been selected by the USGA to represent the United States in the 2009 Walker Cup Matches.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 8, 2009) – The final match of the 107th Met Amateur Championship at Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, N.J., will be a matchup of a young phenom and a seasoned veteran, as 54-year-old John Ervasti of Sleepy Hollow will take on 16-year-old Cameron Wilson, the 2009 Carter Cup champion.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 7, 2009) – Following a slew of close matches this morning in the Round of 16, the afternoon quarterfinals at the 107th Met Amateur at Hackensack Golf Club were filled with lopsided victories. Saturday’s semifinal matches begin at noon, with the 36-hole final on Sunday, August 9th at 7:30 a.m.
