SHELTER ISLAND HEIGHTS, N.Y.(August 10, 2012) – Despite an hour and a half rain delay and an exhausting day of competition, 15-year-old Willis Huynh of Syosset, N.Y., was able to keep his focus and capture the first major victory of his career with the 44th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club on Shelter Island, N.Y. Huynh defeated Vincent Palazzolo of Colts Neck, N.J.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 8, 2012) – A summer of outstanding MGA competition continues with the 44th MGA/MetLife Boys Championship, which will be held Thursday, August 9 and Friday, August 10 at Gardiner’s Bay Country Club in Shelter Island Heights, N.Y. The match play-only championship consists of a starting field of 16 boys—competitors not yet 16 years of age who are students in good standing at an accredited school in the MGA district or who have playing privileges at an MGA member club.

WACCABUC, N.Y. (AUGUST 6, 2012)– On Monday, August 6, The First Tee of Metropolitan New York (TFTMNY) held its 2012 Inter-Facility Tournament of Champions at Waccabuc Country Club in Waccabuc, N.Y. After a month of competitions, six teams representing TFTMNY facilities came ready to play 18 holes to determine who would hoist the Connie DeLoca Cup, named in honor of the late past president and longtime junior chairman of the Metropolitan Golf Association.
