PURCHASE, N.Y. (June 2, 2014) – Today at Old Oaks and Century Country Clubs in Purchase, N.Y., 80 determined professional and amateur golfers attempted to qualify for the 114^th U.S. Open Championship , set to be played at Pinehurst in two weeks. Four players came out on top after the 36-hole Sectional Qualifying Round and will make the trip to North Carolina, including New York’s own Matt Dobyns, the Head Professional at Fresh Meadow.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 27, 2013) - Two of the three Met Area professionals that finished in the top 20 at the National Club Pro Championship on Wednesday did so in dramatic (and clutch) fashion.

First it was 2012 Met Open winner Danny Balin of Burning Tree, who birdied the first playoff hole in a six-man race for three spots to secure his place in his fourth consecutive PGA Championship.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 26, 2013) - Eighteen-year-old Annie Park of Levittown, N.Y., will play in her second U.S. Women's Open at Sebonack Golf Club beginning Thursday, June 27. Park advanced through sectional qualifying for the Open when she achieved medalist honors at Edwood Country Club in River Vale, N.J. in late May.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 25, 2013) – Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven took a page from his own book Tuesday when he claimed his second straight Ike Championship and fifth MGA victory at historic Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y.
 

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 24, 2013) – Defending Ike champ and four-time MGA winner Cameron Wilson of Shorehaven continued where he left off a year ago and fired a 3-under 69 to co-lead after the first round of the 58^th Ike Championship at Wykgayl Country Club in New Rochelle, N.Y.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 24, 2013) - Temperatures were high early this morning as the morning wave of players teed off in the first round of the 2013 Ike Championship at Wykagyl Country Club. Max Buckley of Westchester, who just won the NYC Amateur and the Anderson Memorial, was the low scorer of the morning with a 3-under 69 with 4 birdies on his back-nine.  Buckley commented that although he got off to a challenging start, he was able to recover from a bogey early on with three birdies in a row to get into a groove for the rest of the round.

ROSLYN HARBOR, N.Y. (June 20, 2013) – Franco Russo and Joe Russo represented Smithtown Landing in the 37th MGA/MetLife Men’s Net Team Championship and led the field with a net score of 11-under par 60.

UPDATED (June 21, 2013 - 11:45 a.m.) After a close match which was pushed to extra holes, Jim Liu was defeated on the 19th hole of the semifinals by Garrick Porteous of Bamburgh Castle. Liu had an impressive run, as he was the only American to make it as far as the Round of 16.
