New York's Matt Dobyns is one of 4 to Advance through US Open Qualifying in Purchase, N.Y.

PURCHASE, N.Y. (June 2, 2014) – Today at Old Oaks and Century Country Clubs in Purchase, N.Y., 80 determined professional and amateur golfers attempted to qualify for the 114th U.S. Open Championship , set to be played at Pinehurst in two weeks. Four players came out on top after the 36-hole Sectional Qualifying Round and will make the trip to North Carolina, including New York’s own Matt Dobyns, the Head Professional at Fresh Meadow.

First it was 2012 Met Open winner Danny Balin of Burning Tree, who birdied the first playoff hole in a six-man race for three spots to secure his place in his fourth consecutive PGA Championship.

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (June 24, 2013) - Temperatures were high early this morning as the morning wave of players teed off in the first round of the 2013 Ike Championship at Wykagyl Country Club. Max Buckley of Westchester, who just won the NYC Amateur and the Anderson Memorial, was the low scorer of the morning with a 3-under 69 with 4 birdies on his back-nine.  Buckley commented that although he got off to a challenging start, he was able to recover from a bogey early on with three birdies in a row to get into a groove for the rest of the round.
