SCARSDALE, N.Y. (August 26, 2013) – Tranquil weather and beautiful course conditions at Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., offered up ideal scoring opportunities for the first wave of players in the 17th MGA Senior Open.

Fourteen of out the 54 players who teed it up in the morning were able to shoot under par, led by two-time Met Open champion (’92 and ’08) Mark Mielke of Mill River, who fired a bogey-free 6-under 65. His fantastic front-nine 31 included three birdies and an eagle on the par-5 7^th.

(August 23, 2013) - The 17^th MGA Senior Open heads to Sunningdale Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y., on August 26 & 27 and features a field of 113 talented amateur and professional players 50 years of age and over, competing for one of the Met Area’s top senior titles and a $25,000 purse.

(August 22, 2013) – It took two weather delays and 21 holes, but when the 98^th Met Open Championship sponsored by MetLife was complete, it was Mark Brown of Tam O’Shanter hoisting his second Open trophy and a $27,500 check (out of the $125,000 purse) at Old Westbury Golf and Country Club in Old Westbury, N.Y.

(August 20, 2013) – The morning wave is complete at Old Westbury Golf and Country Club in Old Westbury, N.Y., at the 98^th Met Open  Championship sponsored by MetLife today and it is John Stoltz of Concord Monster in the lead by a shot after firing a 1-under 70. Stoltz won the Met Open as an amateur in 2005, the last time it was played at Old Westbury.
