ST. ANDREWS GC--The 2000 MGA Tournament season kicked off in dramatic fashion as the Rutgers University team came from an eleven shot morning deficit to capture its first MGA Intercollegiate Championship in over 25 years.  Rutgers heroic finish was good enough to edge out St. John’s University, leaders after the morning 18, on a spectacular day at historic St. Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.  

GLEN COVE, N.Y.-- In what turned out to be a two-man race Ken Macdonald, of Upper Montclair GC, showed veins of steel outlasting Marc Turnesa, of Rockville Links, by one stroke successfully defending his title in the 45^th MGA/MetLife Ike Stroke Play Championship.

ELMSFORD, N.Y. - Ellie and Ollie Lazare of Metropolis Country Club in White Plains, N.Y., will be awarded the Metropolitan Golf Association’s highest honor, the Distinguished Service Award, at the Associations 103rd Annual Meeting and Dinner on Wednesday, December 6th, at Westchester Country Club in Harrison, N.Y.
