September 21, 2011 – Mike Stamberger's outstanding run at the U.S. Mid-Amateur championship ended this afternoon with a 2 & 1 loss during the Quarterfinals against two-time defending champion Nathan Smith of Pittsburgh, Pa.

Due to wet course conditions, the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifying Round at Morris County Country Club has be postponed. Due to the severity of today’s rain, the forecast for Wednesday, September 7th and the wet conditions at Morris County Country Club after Hurricane Irene the qualifying site has been moved to Thursday, September 8 at Trump National (Old Course) – Bedminster (Bedminster, NJ).
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 31, 2011) – Don Cervantes of Levittown, N.Y., is an MGA GOLFWORKS intern currently working at Garden City Country Club on Long Island. Last year was his first year in the program, and as a result of his experience, Cervantes discovered he had an interest in golf course maintenance and is pursuing a career as a golf course superintendent.
