(October 17, 2011) – On a cool and windy autumn day at Crestmont Country Club in West Orange, N.J., the Met Area’s top professionals and amateurs over the age of 50 collected to compete for the 15th MGA Senior Open Championship. With six former champions highlighting the field of 128, 2006 winner Bill Britton of Trump National-Colts Neck holds a share of the first-round lead with Don Brigham of Battleground after both players carded 4-under-par 68.

NEWARK, N.J. (October 13, 2011) – Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. announced Tuesday the unveiling of plans for the development of a 1,600-plus square foot Junior Golf Learning Center at Essex County Weequahic Park Golf Course, allowing the First Tee of Essex County to provide year-round instruction.

(September 27, 2011) - Niall Handley of Essex Fells Country Club got off to a strong start in the first round of the 5th MGA Mid-Amateur Championship at Essex County Country Club in West Orange, N.J. The championship is an invitational consisting of the best 35-and-older players from across the Met Area, and Handley has a strong record in the event, with a runner-up and T-9 finish the last two years.
