Four Local Players Advance to First Stage of Q-School
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2012) - Casey Calmi of Douglaston, N.Y., Michael Furci of Sayville, N.Y., and Matt Dubrowski of Bergenfield, N.J., all finished inside the top 39 to make it through the Pre-Qualifying Stage of Q-School at Bear Lakes Country Club (Links) in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Matt Mattare's tremendous run at the U.S. Mid-Amateur came to an end in the quarterfinals when he ran into Garrett Rank of Canada, who defeated the Met Amateur runner-up 3 and 2. Rank's stellar round included four birdies and two bogeys. Mattare fought hard to make it a match, winning holes 11 and 12 to square up the match, but proceeded to lose holes 14, 15, and 16.
