Hall, Two Others Fail to Advance in First Stage of Q-School
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 19, 2012) - Three Met Area professionals who began play in the First Stage of PGA Tour Qualifying School with dreams of making the PGA Tour did not advance to the Second Stage.
Tyler Hall of Scottsdale, Ariz., the 2011 Met Open champion, finished T27 at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif. The top 18 players, plus ties, qualified to play in the Second Stage.
Also falling short were David Schuster of New York, N.Y., and Anthony Aruta of Staten Island, N.Y., who finished T24 and T46, respectively, at Grasslands Golf and Country Club in Lakeland, Fla. Schuster finished T6 at the 2011 Met Open at Sleepy Hollow. Aruta, who regularly competes in the Met Open and U.S. Open Qualifiers, got to the First Stage by advancing through Pre-Qualifying at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas back in September. The top 19 players and ties advanced to the Second Stage.
