LOCAL PLAYERS ON PRO TOURS
ELMSFORD, N.Y. (February 4, 2008) - The pro tours are in full swing and some Met Area players are making their mark, including Trump National-Bedminster assistant professional Jim Herman, who has made the cut in both Nationwide Tour events of the year. Herman, who finished t-2nd at the 2007 Met Open, is in 62nd place on the money list. New Jersey native Chris Nallen has also performed well in the early going and is t-48 on the money list after a top-25 finish at the Mexico Open on February 3.
In Florida, three former Met Open champions are making a splash on the Gateway Tour. Through three events, 2005 Met Open champion John Stoltz is ninth on the money list with $7,249. Reigning Met Open champion Frank Bensel of Century is 16th ($5,403) and 2006 champion John Guyton of Trump National-Westchester is 20th ($4,516). On the PGA Tour, local pros J.J. Henry, Marc Turnesa, Johnson Wagner and Jim McGovern are off to strong starts after five events. Henry leads the way with two cuts in three events and has earned $25,286, good for 123rd place on the money list. Marc Turnesa and Johnson Wagner have both made one cut in three starts and are 130th ($22,360) and 133rd ($21,420) on the money list, respectively.
