As part of the continued mission to grow the game of golf, the MGA Foundation is celebrating the opportunities provided for juniors with a Youth on Course Membership. YOC member Katelyn Ho shared her experience with the program as part of Youth on Course Month.
Katelyn has been a member of Youth on Course for over four years now. Katelyn has also participated with the First Tee in the New York area for more than four years and said when she began the First Tee recommended that everyone sign up for the program. Katelyn says that her favorite part of being a Youth on Course member “was being a part of the Gen Z Council on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion during covid and being able to play on specific golf courses at a discounted rate.”
Katelyn also mentioned that her favorite part of golf is how challenging it is, but she also added that’s what makes it so fun for her. She recommends Youth on Course to anyone who can join and who likes to play golf, saying “It’s such a great way to play a lot while not worrying about spending a lot of money.”
Her favorite golf memory is getting a hole in one! Katelyn says that golf has taught her a lot about perserverance and always trying her best.
