As we marked the 25th anniversary of Sepember 11, 2001, we reflected on the lasting impact of that day and the many ways the golf community came together in the years that followed. This special issue of The Met Golfer shared three powerful stories that highlight resilience, generosity, and strength, recognizing the life and death of Michael J. Berkeley; a golf tournament between the city’s finest and bravest that helps keep the spirit of 9/11 alive; and how the game gave Jimmy Dunne the ultimate mulligan on that day.
We hope you’ll take a moment to read these stories, remember those we lost, and reflect on the enduring bonds that bring our community together.
The issue also features Up Close with Melissa Stark, a visit to Bayonne Golf Club, and a Q&A with Met Open champion Brent Ito.
