The feature “Right Side of the Grass” by Paul Rogers collected first place honors. The story appeared in the February/March 2024 issue and took a closer look at industry leading research and development being completed at the Center for Turfgrass Science at Rutgers University.

The June/July 2024 issue earned outstanding achiever recognition. The issue’s cover story highlighted adaptive golf opportunities and included features on Hollywood Golf Club in New Jersey, WFAN’s Gregg ‘Gio’ Giannotti, Tamarack Country Club in Connecticut, Ireland golf grips, and more.

Ken Van Vechten’s “Taking Measure” article, part of the In the Bag series, was also tabbed as an outstanding achiever. In the piece, Van Vechten dove into the decision of using either a GPS or a rangefinder to measure yardages on the golf course.

The International Network of Golf is a non-profit, media-based networking organization that conducts the awards program for its members. ING membership is open to anyone in the golf industry and media. Nearly four dozen awards were announced at the presentation.

An independent panel of three judges in each category determines first-place winners and outstanding achievers. Judges use a point system with several criteria. Scoring is done by judges when possible without knowledge of the person responsible for the work, or of the other judges in the category. The number of outstanding achievers in a category is determined by total entries and scoring range in the category.
