ELMSFORD, N.Y. (December 6, 2007) - Jim McGovern, who won the 1987 Met Open as an amateur and then won the Met Amateur the following year, finished tied for 19th at PGA Tour Q-School this year and will be fully exempt Tour in 2008. McGovern, who turns 43 in February, won the 1993 Shell Houston Open, but since 2000 has played most of his tournaments on the Nationwide Tour. The native of Oradell, New Jersey, took a few minutes to speak with the MGA regarding his recent accomplishment:

(January 18, 2007) - For more than a century, the Metropolitan Golf Association has provided local golfers and fans alike with an outstanding schedule of highly competitive championships, regularly played at some of the region’s most prestigious clubs. The 2007 schedule will continue that tradition in grand style, and introduce a new event, the MGA Mid-Amateur Championship, which will be played at Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.

The 2004 schedule will continue that tradition in grand style.
ELMSFORD, N.Y.-Paul R. Dillon of Mamaroneck, New York, was elected to a second one-year term as President of the Metropolitan Golf Association at the MGA’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, December 3rd at the Westchester Country Club. Dillon, a member of the Winged Foot Golf Club, is the Association’s 56th President, and will head a 22-member Executive Committee, as well as serve as Chairman of the Association’s charitable Foundation.
