(September 15, 2016) - Four down with five holes to play, Stewart Hagestad authored a comeback in the 36-hole final of the 36th U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship that will be remembered for years to come. (August 19, 2016) – The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) has announced today that Jay Mottola will be stepping down as the Executive Director of the Association at the end of the 2016 calendar year. Mottola has acted in this position for the past 34 years, leading the Association and its charitable MGA Foundation and helping to establish the MGA as a leader among regional and national golf organizations.

The former Met Open and Met Amateur champion chased down overnight leader Bill Van Orman of Meadow Brook behind a 3-under 68, then claimed victory at the 20th MGA Senior Open with a par on the sixth playoff hole—the par-4 18th.
