GREENWICH, Conn. (October 25, 2022) – Shaun Powers used his home course advantage to claim the 2nd Westchester Senior Open Championship Presented by Lexus at Fairview Country Club. Powers, the 2019 MGA Senior Open Champion and Head Golf Professional at Fairview, birdied 18 to finish with a 3-under 69 to lead the field by two strokes.
After a morning fog delay, Powers began his round with a bogey on the first, but quickly recovered and recorded five birdies en route to securing the win.
Two-time MGA Senior Open and former Met Open champ Bobby Heins of Old Oaks and Frank Bensel of Century both carded 1-under 71s, while Michael Laudien of Rotella and Chris Toulso n of Sunningdale finished at even par.
Andrew Kaskel of Quaker Ridge and 2013 MGA Mid-Am champin Michael Karger of Century both finished at 2-over 74 to share Low Amateur honors.
This was just the second playing of the Westchester Senior Open. Carl Alexander of Purchase won the inaugural event in 2021 at Pelham Country Club.
