Over the past month, we spoke with former Met Open winners Jim McGovern, Jim Albus and Bruce Zabriski, asking them nine questions each on golf-related topics.
Jim Albus (1970, 1984 Met Open Champion)
We caught up with with former Piping Rock golf professional Jim Albus, a two-time Met Open winner who competed on the Senior PGA Tour (now known as the PGA Tour Champions) following his victory at the Senior Players Championship in 1991. Albus won his first Met Open in 1970 at The Ridgewood Country Club and then fourteen years later in 1984 at Old Oaks Country Club.
Jim McGovern (1987 Met Open Champion) Masters Edition
Although the 2020 Masters Tournament has been moved to November, golf fans have been enjoying the Masters Rewind coverage of some of the best final rounds, highlights, photos and more player interviews over the last week. With Augusta National on the mind, we caught up with two-time Masters competitor Jim McGovern, longtime head professional at White Beeches Golf and Country Club. McGovern competed on the PGA TOUR from 1991-1998, and his win at the 1993 Shell Houston Open earned him an invitation to the 1994 Masters, where he recorded a T5 finish, his best finish in a Major. Prior to his time on TOUR, McGovern won the 1987 Met Open at Winged Foot as an amateur and the 1988 Met Amateur at Plainfield; in 2016 he captured the MGA Senior Open Championship at Brooklawn.

Bruce Zabriski (1993, 1996 Met Open Champion)
The MGA caught up with two-time Met Open and MGA Senior Open winner Bruce Zabriski, a former competitor on the European Tour, PGA Tour, and Nationwide Tour for a combined eight years. He discussed his memories competing in major championships, playing in local events, and competing against longtime Deepdale Head Professional Darrell Kestner.
