ELMSFORD, N.Y. (May 9, 2025) — The MGA Public Links Championship this year heads to Hominy Hills Golf Course in Colts Neck, N.J., with the 36-hole championship taking place on June 12.

Hominy Hills was established in 1965, with its Robert Trent Jones, Sr., design originally serving as a private course. A decade later when the founding Mercer family decided to sell the course, they sold it to Monmouth County. Through the years, Hominy Hill has stood among the most popular public golf courses in New Jersey. It even stepped into the national spotlight on a pair of occasions, hosting the U.S. Amateur Public Links and U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links in 1983 and 1995, respectively.
This will be the sixth time Hominy Hills hosts the MGA Public Links Championship. The last came in 2011 when Anthony Aloi edged Eric LeFante with an eagle on the opening playoff hole.
Qualifying will take place at five sites throughout the Met Area, taking place between May 12-28.
May 12 – Rock Hill Golf & Country Club, Manorville, N.Y.
Justin Lomenzo of Nassau Players Club led all competitors shooting 2-over-par 73. Even par golf on the front nine helped propel him to the top spot. Jack Breutsch, playing on his home course, and MGA eClub NYC member Daniel Schwartz tied for second place with a score of 3-over 74. Schwartz notably made a hole-in-one on No. 17, a 180-yard par 3. The remaining six players that advanced were divided into three ties. Craig Maerki of Smithtown Landing  and Charles Bast of Stonebridge made up the first pair finishing 4-over 75, followed by MGA eClub Long Island members Frank Meizoso and Patrick Heaney who both ended at 5-over 76. Finally, Gerard Connolly of Eisenhower and USGA/MGA GC member Robert Fitch rounded out the field with 6-over 77.

May 14 – Griffith E. Harris Golf Course, Greenwich, Conn.
With rain falling throughout the afternoon, the course played tough, but it was Luke Ogrady–Rodgers of Centennial Golf Club and Oliver McGovern of MET PGA Junior Golf Club who topped the qualifying leaderboard at 2-over-par 73. As this qualifier also served as the 26th Westchester Public Links Championship, the duo faced off in a playoff for the title, where Ogrady-Rodgers claimed the championship. Following closely behind were David Lippman of MGA eClub – Connecticut, Matt Lagana of USGA/MGA GC, and Andrew Lord of Hudson Hills Golf Course, each carding a 3-over-par 74. Eight golfers advanced to the championship after shooting 4-over-par 75 or better.

May 19 – Eisenhower Park Golf Course (Red), East Meadow, N.Y.
On a sunny day on Long Island Matt Difiore of Youth on Course – MGA kept the good play going this season and earned medalist honors after shooting a one-under-par 71. Difiore carded three birdies en route to the top qualifying spot as the only player under par. Closely behind Broden Douglas of Crab Meadow GC takes home a solo second place after shooting a one-over-par 73. Eugene Kang of MGA eClub LI finished at two-over-par 74 to round out our podium finishers. Overall, nine golfers punched their tickets to Hominy Hill with scores of 77 or better.

May 21 – LaTourette Golf Course, Staten Island, N.Y.
It was a rainy day at La Tourette Golf Course where players looked to qualify for the Public Links Championship. Colm Hughes of MGA eClub NYC led all competitors shooting a 2-under 70. Jose Rios of Baychester GC finished second on the day firing a 1-under 71. Carter Nunez and Ethan Lee both represent MGA eClub NJ, and both finished even on the day. Five players qualified with a score of 1-over 73. Jonathan Blauner of Bethpage State Park GC, Jason Miller from Five Iron Golf, AJ Lacobellis out of Goodfellas GC, William Hoban of MGA eClub LI, and Billy Byrnes from Nassau Players Club all advance to the Public Links Championship.

May 28 – River Vale Country Club, River Vale, N.J.
Corey Brigham of Rock Spring Golf Club led the way on a cloudy day at River Vale Country Club. Brigham topped the leaderboard by posting an impressive 3-under-par 69 to secure the leading spot among the 12 qualifying positions. The day’s action saw three players finish under par, with Eric Bleile of Sterling Farms Golf Club shooting a 2-under-par 70, and Frank Graziosa from MGA eClub – New Jersey finishing at 1-under-par 71. Additionally, two players, Sean McGarvey of Haverstraw Golf Club and David Sampson of Rock Spring Golf Club, matched par with scores of even-par 72. A notable highlight came from 17-year-old Luke Krombholz, carded an albatross on the par-5 fifth hole.
