September 22 – Long Island National Golf Club, Riverhead, N.Y.
Zackery Secord and Brendan Kuffner, both of Ottawa, ON., comfortably qualified for the championship shooting 8-under-par 63, earning medalist honors by two strokes. The team started off hot and never looked back. It was a tale of two nines for both men. After playing the first three holes at 1-under-par, Secord played the next six holes at 4-over-par. Kuffner picked up his teammate during that tough stretch, playing those six holes at 2-under-par.Kuffner opened the back nine with back-to-back birdies on the 10th and 11th holes, but then the roles from the front nine flipped. Kuffner played the final seven holes at 5-over-par, while Secord found his game and returned the favor, finishing at 2-under-par over that same stretch to carry the team home. John Baldwin of Little Compton, R.I. and Christopher Bornhorst of Boston, M.A. were the second qualifier, firing 6-under-par 65, two shots clear of the next team. Bornhorst sprinted out of the gates, making three birdies in the first five holes. Balwin was able to keep the team afloat making par on four holes where Bornhorst had picked up, Baldwin also made a birdie on the 10th hole.

Ben Cooley and Jake Shuman of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and Boston, Massachusetts and Scott McNeil and Troy Vannucci of Springfield, Pennsylvania and Marlton, New Jersey both qualified for the 12th U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship shooting 6-under-par 66, earning co-medalist honors and avoiding a playoff by one stroke. Cooley and Shuman started off hot, playing the front nine at 4-under-par. A bogey on the par-3 17th put their spot in jeopardy, but Shuman made a clutch birdie on 18 to sneak under the cutline. The pair made seven birdies in total, their only bogey coming on 17. It was a rollercoaster round for McNeil and Vannucci, but they did a great job picking each other up when one had a bad hole. There was only one blemish on their card, a bogey on the par-4 2nd. Afterwards, the team played some phenomenal golf, just not at the same time. McNeil and Vannucci made 5 birdies and an eagle. On five of those six holes, the other player made bogey or worse.
