ELMSFORD, N.Y. (August 20, 2015) - On August 19, a group of 35 junior golfers from The First Tee of Plainfield enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience, participating in the MGA/MetLife Youth Clinic on the field of MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. MetLife Stadium is home to two NFL franchises— the New York Giants and the New York Jets—and hosts world class concerts, college football games, International soccer matches and many other events, including Super Bowl XLVIII.

Once on the field, participants took part in putting and chipping stations, and competed in a timed football-related race that included sprinting through an obstacle course and kicking a football off a tee. The winners of the football challenge, in both a boys and girls category, were awarded Giants and Jets jerseys. After the on-field events, the group continued with lunch in the Coaches Club suite and enjoyed and an indoor tour of the stadium. The highlight of the sightseeing was seeing the four Vince Lombardi Trophies won by the New York Giants in 2011, 2007, 1990, and 1986.

On hand was MetLife’s friendly mascot, Snoopy, who picked up a putter and joined the fun with the participants. All in attendance were in awe of the venue and amazed at the experience which allowed them to be on the same field as some of their favorite professional athletes.

The MGA/MetLife Youth Clinic at MetLife Stadium is the third of four clinics conducted by the MGA Foundation in partnership with MetLife.
