ELMSFORD, N.Y. (June 9, 2014) - New York's Annie Park helped the USA regain the Curtis Cup this weekend. Park, a member of the USC golf team, played in the 2012 MGA's French-American challenge. The Americans had a dominant showing over Great Britain and Ireland, winning 13-7.

The Curtis Cup, a biennal competition for female amateurs between Great Britain and Ireland the United States, consisted of four-ball and foursome matches on Friday and Saturday, followed by 8 single matches on Sunday. Park won her foursome and four-ball matches on Friday, helping the Americans gain an early lead.

On Saturday, she and her playing partner Erynne Lee lost their four-ball match, but on Sunday Park was victorious in her singles match, winning 5 and 4 over Gabrielle Crowley of England.

Going into the final day of match play, the USA was leading 9 1/2 - 2 1/2, making that the largest four-round lead since the playing format was changed in 2008 to include five sessions over three days. Although the Great Britain and Ireland team fought back in Sunday's singles matches, winning 4 matches to earn more points, the USA's early lead kept them in line to win the Cup after their 2012 loss at Nairn Golf Club in Scotland.
