Scialabba claims Senior Amateur at Old Westbury

 

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (October 18, 2024) Dave Scialabba of Meadow Brook Club emerged as the winner of the 2024 Arthur Weber Memorial Senior Amateur Championship after firing a final round 73 to win the championship by one shot over David Boccia of Huntington Country Club.

After shooting a 77 in the first round of the championship, Scialabba found himself three shots back of leader Adam Moskowitz of Old Westbury, who shot 74. After opening round two with a bogey, Scialabba found his grove and added a birdie on the seventh hole to finish the front nine at even par. The back nine was a mixed bag for him along with the rest of the field, but Scialabba continued the steady play, adding two more birdies. The effort was good enough to move up the leaderboard and claim the championship.

Boccia finished one shot back in second place, after carding rounds of 75/76. Rounding out the podium was Dennis Lynch of Baiting Hollow G & CC who finished the 36-hole championship at nine over par.
