The Richardson Memorial Championship Sponsored by Keystone Electronics Corp. once again kicks off the season, taking place May 2-4 at Wheatley Hills Golf Club in East Williston, N.Y. The invitational will crown champions in both a championship and senior division.

The Long Island Open comes next, with qualifying taking place May 9 at Bethpage State Park's Red Course and May 15 at Indian Hills Country Club in Northport, N.Y. The championship proper will certainly be one circled on many competitors' schedules, with Piping Rock hosting the championship for just the second time in its history. It last hosted in 1965, when Tom Nieporte won his third of eventually five Long Island Open titles.

The Michael Hebron Amateur Championship will take place July 2-3 at it's annual host, Bethpage State Park's famed Black Course.

One of the region's most grueling tests comes next, with the 101st Long Island Amateur Championship Presented by Webster Bank taking place at St. George's Golf & Country Club, July 8-11. Following 18 holes of on-site stroke play qualifying, the top 32 scores advance to match play. The champion is determined from a 36-hole final. This will be St. George's fourth time hosting the championship, with George Burns III (1972), Ken Bakst (1995), and Garett Engel (2017) winning titles at the classic Devereux Emmet layout.

On August 14-15 the Women's Amateur Stroke Play Championship returns to its usual host, the Red Course at Bethpage State Park.

The Long Island Senior Open Championship Sponsored by Steve Madden heads to Engineers Country Club in Roslyn, N.Y., September 24-25, while the Long Island Mid-Amateur Championship Sponsored by JBA Awards heads to The Bridge in Bridgehampton, N.Y.

The season wraps up with it's traditional closers, the Arthur Weber Memorial Senior Amateur Championship at Old Westbury Golf & Country Club in Old Westbury, N.Y., on October 17-18 and the George Sands Memorial Four-Ball Championship at North Shore Country Club in Glen Head, N.Y., on October 21.

Members of Long Island clubs and courses may also compete for LIGA division titles in the Metropolitan Golf Association's Parent-Child Championship (July 22, Nissequoge Golf Club), Father & Son Championship (August 12, Springdale Golf Club), and Mixed Pinehurst Championship (TBA).

Details for several championships will be announced at a later date, while championship registration will open on March 1 at 10 a.m., once again using the Golf Genius platform.
