MGA Extends Partnership with GOLFZON, Announces Virtual Championship

ELMSFORD, N.Y. (October 10, 2023) – The Metropolitan Golf Association is pleased to announce a multi-year extension with Golfzon as an official partner and the “Official Golf Simulator” of the MGA.

The MGA and Golfzon have worked together since 2017 and Golfzon has had a presence at various MGA educational events and championships. Established in 2000, Golfzon’s mission is to provide easier access to golf and operates under the philosophy of making golf more fun and accessible to everyone.

Based in Seoul, South Korea, Golfzon has over 20 years experience developing the world’s most advanced golf simulators. Technology is at the heart of the company, as hundreds of patents have been issued for its award-winning simulators with many new ones filed annually by the research and development team. This industry-leading technology delivers the most realistic indoor golf experience on the market and has established the brand’s global leadership position.

Golfzon has recently opened indoor simulator locations called Golfzon Social in West Nyack, N.Y., and Scarsdale, N.Y. These facilities are designed to offer the most realistic virtual golf experience, along with classic arcade games and a full menu of food and beverage options.

As part of the relationship, the MGA will facilitate a new event, the MGA Virtual Interclub Championship, powered by Golfzon. This championship will be conducted on an annual basis at a Golfzon Social location throughout the Met Area. The championship will bring together two-person teams of one professional and one amateur from MGA clubs; the first annual event will take place on Saturday, December 9 at Golfzon Social in the Palisades Center in West Nyack, N.Y.

"We're thrilled about the Virtual Interclub Championship, and excited to watch the best top professionals and their partners compete for their own Golfzon TwoVision simulator for their represented club,” said Tommy Lim, CEO of Golfzon America. “With over 18 global pro tour events hosted on TwoVision systems and 150,000+ annual tournaments, the unmatched accuracy of our system allows us to host these types of tournaments, and we're committed to growing this event in New York City and beyond – connecting golfers worldwide in an exciting new way."

The Virtual Interclub Championship is an 18 hole, four-ball (gross) stroke play competition that will be contested on Marco Simone Golf and Country Club, site of the 2023 Ryder Cup. Prizes will be awarded to the top-ten teams; the first-place team will win a Golfzon TwoVision simulator for their home club or facility. Individuals will win a David Leadbetter Experience, with travel and accommodations included, plus a Golfzon Wave (portable launch monitor).
