GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (August 23, 2023) - Michael and Mike McBride of National Golf Links of America were victorious at Cherry Valley Club at the 73rd MGA Father & Son Championship. The day started off strong for the McBrides, with a pair of birdies and one bogey leading to them carding a 1-under 35 on the front nine. However, the back was where the father son duo began to excel. An eagle on ten followed by four consecutive birdies allowed them to claim their rightful spot at the top of the leaderboard, ending the day 6-under 72.

The Father & Son Championship is not a new event for the McBride family - the championship's trophy is named the McBride Cup in honor of Terry McBride, who passed away in 2015. In 1964, Terry won the championship with his father Joseph and dominated the field the next two years to retain the title. Following that, Joseph and Terry's brother Michael McBride captured the title in 1970, which was followed up again by Michael and Mike McBride in 2001.

Christian and James Johnson of Rock Spring Golf Club and The People’s Tour were the winners of the Net Division, shooting 7-under. The professional division was won by Corey and Michael Eisenband, who finished even par.

The McBrides also took home the Long Island division, while Evan and Pat DeLuca of MGA eClub - Connecticut and the Longshore Men's Club won the Westchester title after a match of cards.
