Ryan Skae of Hudson National sits in third place at 2-under. Skae, Newman, and Dhaubhadel were the only golfers to shoot under par in the first two rounds. Skae Skae birdied his last hole in round two to card his second straight 1-under 70.

After the first round, played five strokes over par at Arcola Country Club, the Met area’s top players posted a second-round scoring average of 74 on Wednesday. Twenty-two players broke par on Wednesday in the second round compared to 10 in the opening round.

Arcola’s parkland layout has already served as a stern test, playing long and requiring a deft touch on and around its famously fast greens. The club is hosting its first-ever Met Open, having previously welcomed the 2018 Met Amateur Championship as well as the 2019 Carey Cup matches, plus four MGA Senior Amateurs in the past. In 2022 it served as the stroke play co-host for the U.S. Amateur Championship.
