Women's Golf Day Events a Success

BETHPAGE, N.Y. (June 6, 2023) - On National Women’s Golf Day, more than 150 women took part in special Metropolitan Golf Association events held at Bethpage State Park, with a Play Day Presented by Callaway taking place on the Red Course in the morning and an Introduction to Women's Golf clinic offered in partnership with Lexus happening in the evening.

In the morning, more than 90 ladies gathered for an 18-hole round with a shotgun start. The event included chances to win Callaway prizes through contests like longest drive, closest to the pin, and a closest putt competition.

Evelyn Sweeney, Bella Torina, Margaret Logan, and Maribeth Romeo took home first place, carding a 4-under 66 in the scramble format.

The day wrapped up with an early evening clinic, led by Megan Younkman, Justin Koff and other instructors from the Golf Channel Academy with Kelley Brooke. The more than 60 participants rotated through three stations, getting full-swing instruction on the driving range, taking chipping lessons around the green and using some on-green putting tools to sharpen their putting stroke on the green.

Following the clinic, attendees enjoyed dinner and a time to network with fellow women golfers.
